OTHER TELEVISION STANDARDS

There are three main broadcast standards used around the world for picture reproduction, and they are not compatible with each other. The American television standard is NTSC and the other two are called PAL and SECAM. Recordings made using PAL will not play properly in a VCR made for SECAM or NTSC. SECAM recordings will not play correctly in a VCR made for the PAL or NTSC systems. Tapes recorded using a NTSC VCR will not play in PAL or SECAM recorder. I only repair, service or offer for purchase Betas that are made for the NTSC system. I do not service or repair PAL or SECAM Beta VCRs.
