Only the SL-HF2100 has an automatic video heads cleaner. It employs a special solenoid to momentarily press a soft, sponge-like roller against the video head slot in the drum. The roller is at the end of a jointed lever so only light pressure is applied to the area. The video heads are spun momentarily so they come in contact with the roller. This function only occurs as the cassette is traveling into the compartment and just before the tape threads. It isn't performed every time a tape loads. It only happens after a predetermined number of operations over a certain time period. The main processor counts how many cassettes have been inserted before it energizes the solenoid to clean the heads. ©Misterßetamax go to homepage
