The TV VERTICAL LOCK, also called STILL ADJUST, is usually located under the tuning door or in the back. It is used for matching the false video sync signal coming from the VCR with the monitor during pause, single frame advance, or step-motion. If the picture shakes during these modes, adjusting this control will help stabilize the picture. Once determined, you do not need to do this again unless a different monitor is used or a non-native tape exhibits vertical instability during these functions.
