TOSHIBA GLOBAL VCRS

Variations of a basic model were indicated by adding letters. For example "C" stood for export to Canada and indicated that this model had passed their safety requirements. These Betas might also have include an additional owner's manual in French. The "T" was for Taiwan and the "L" indicted it also included a manual in the Taiwanese language. An "M" at the end meant it was to be shipped to certain areas of the middle east. Adding an extra number or a zero to the base number might also indicate a slight production change. All these Betas still operated using the NTSC television standard and they were fully capable of being used in the United States. Many were sold at military facilities around the world through the base PX. Some included switches in the back for changing their voltage from 110 to 220 and/or the cycles from 50 to 60 Hertz.
