TIMER INDICATOR AND FUNCTION

The TIMER indicator appears in the display or as an illuminated icon on the front of the VCR. This declares that either the settings are being made, have been programmed, or the VCR is in the timer standby mode. It will also indicate that the unit is currently executing one of its preprogrammed timer settings and is recording. Once settings have been scheduled into the VCR, it can be placed in the record-ready mode by pressing the TIMER REC button. This can be aborted anytime by pressing the timer record button again; none of the function buttons will operate except pause. At the scheduled turn-off time, the VCR will automatically stop, and the indicator will go off unless more settings are scheduled. If multiple settings have been programmed, it will return to the ready mode and wait for the next program to start. Timer operation (as well as the "Quick Timer" feature) can be terminated anytime during recording by pressing the TIMER REC button. In this case, the VCR will turn off, and the indicator will go off. Future timer settings will not be executed. Pressing the TIMER REC button again will activate any remaining settings. If a timer recording terminates at the end of a tape, the VCR will shut off, and it will not rewind the cassette.
