SANYO PX MODELS

These Sanyo Betas were designed to operate where the voltage requirements might be different from that used in the USA (120 AC at 60 Hz). On the back of the VCR was a switch that allowed it to match the current of the country where it was being used. This might select either 50 or 60 Hz or 220 volts instead of the USA 120, or it might have a switch for both. It varied according to the model. These switchable units customarily came with the European plug that had the round blades instead of the flat ones used in America. AC stands for alternating current and Hz is for Hertz (or cycles per second).
