The RMT-158 only shipped with the SL-500ME with a gold (also called tan) colored cabinet. It covered the basic functions found on most any Betamax. These include play, scan in forward and reverse, pause, fast forward, rewind and stop. Also there were channel -/+ buttons for accessing preset stations. To place the VCR in the record mode required pressing two buttons at the same time, this prevented accidental recording. Requires two AA batteries. Operates on VTR channel 1.
