Realistic was the uplifting logo for Radio Shack's line of superior electronic products. Most were made for them by a third party under their name. Their two Beta VCRs models were made for them by Sanyo. These are the model 20 and 22. The Realistic model 20 was very similar to the Sanyo VCR 7200 and was a fully featured Betahi-fi stereo Beta. Smartly designed and well engineered it was a winner. So what would make it even better? Make it SuperBetahi-fi and you have the model 22. It looks exactly like the Sanyo VCR 7250. Only the name has been changed to keep it from being Sanyo. Sales were good for both models because they were priced right. Radio Shack should be commended for stocking Beta tapes for their customers long after most other retailers had abandoned Beta altogether.
