REALISTIC BETA VCRS
Realistic was the brand name for the Beta VCRs from Radio Shack. The name also was used on some other lines of equipment. They marketed two Beta models, both of them made by Sanyo. These were the model 20 and 22. The model 20 was very similar to the Sanyo VCR 7200 and was a fully featured Betahi-fi stereo VCR. It had a clean, sharp design and proved to be a winner for Radio Shack. Their other Beta, the model 22, went it one better. It was a SuperBetahi-fi and it looked almost exactly like the Sanyo VCR VCR 7250 it's copied from. Only the name was changed to keep it from saying Sanyo. What also helped sales was both models were priced right. Radio Shack also sold their own line of Beta cassettes and kept stocking them long after most retailers had stop selling their brands.
