The RX (remote execution) switch is selected when various control units are used. These are connected to the 33-pin socket in the back of the VCR. When using the RX-353 or RX-303 the switch is set to ON. The green indicator will light up on the front. This gives over control to the remote of various functions and allows added features such as location search, indexing, programming and more. The switch is set to OFF for normal operation. The orange indicator will light. Note: when the switch is in the ON position the VCR will be in search mode during fast forward and reverse. This slows down the speed of the tape. This is purposeful and not a malfunction.
