VOLUME PEAK METER

Beta models that record in Betahi-fi stereo have volume peak meters to measure and display the incoming and recorded audio level. It can be made using LEDs, be included in the main display or be a separate fluorescent tube. The picture above shows the most common LED appearance. A peak meter is a type of measuring instrument that indicates visually the instantaneous level of an audio signal that is being measured. It is meant to correspond to the perceived loudness of a particular signal. The reading is displayed in dB which stands for decibels. The scale is logarithmic which means the amplitude ratio is graduated in powers of ten, that is 10 = 10, 20 = 100, 30 = 1000, etc. For more on dB measurement click here (this panel will be replaced with another).
