This Betamax provides a MONITOR SELECT switch on the front for choosing the audio source from the tape being played. There are three positions. They are CH-1, CH-2, and MIX. Mix is for playing both channels 1 and 2 simultaneously. The channels are two separate (linear tracks) stacked on top of each other located in the ACE assembly. Each is monaural, but by using the mix position, stereo sound is achieved. Not to be confused with Betahi-fi stereo, which is recorded inside the video signal. Switch positions do not affect recording. This unit does not record or play Betahi-fi. ©Misterßetamax go to homepage
