Plug your Beta into a power outlet. If it does not automatically return the loader back to the starting position, press eject to do so. This will completely unthread the path and return the cassette tray to the unloaded position. Place the pinch roller on the pivot post with the spring tips in the hole and arch as seen in the large photo below. Make note of the locking boss (identified in small photo lower left) and the retaining block. Rotate the assembly counterclockwise and place the bottom locking boss (pin) in front of the retaining block. While holding it in this position moistened your finger and stick the plastic circular clip to the tip. Press it onto the post end (see small photo lower right). If everything went as well the roller assembly should be held in position parrallel to the sliding plate and should have a spring action when pushed in towards the drum.

This completes the internal cleaning. Unplug your machine and replace the top cabinet. (It is unplugged to eliminate the possibility of shorting the metal cabinet against the circuit boards and causing damage.) Secure the top with the cabinet screws and resume normal operation of your beta.
