This model Betamax provides a switch on the front that is used to select the source for recording. TUNER is for recording TV broadcast channels and LINE 1 IN or LINE 2 IN is for an external source. Both the audio and video inputs are recorded when either line is selected. If using AUDIO DUB or MIC (microphone) only the audio source is changed. Switch does not affect playback. The A/V cables can remain connected regardless of the switch position.
