This Betamax provides a switch on the front that is used to select the source to be recorded. The option TUNER is for recording the TV channels, and LINE IN is from an external source. Both the audio and video inputs are recorded when LINE IN is selected. If using AUDIO DUB or MIC (microphone), only the audio source is changed. Switch does not affect playback. The A/V cables can remain connected regardless of the switch position.
