This model Betamax provides a switch on the front that is used to select the source to record. The options are the internal TUNER for recording off-the-air broadcast analog TV channels, LINE/PCM for selecting a source connected to the AUDIO IN and VIDEO IN jacks and SIMULCAST. When LINE/PCM is selected both the audio and video inputs are recorded. If SIMULCAST is selected the sound from the LINE IN jack is recorded and video will come from the TUNER. If using AUDIO DUB or MIC (microphone) only the audio input is changed. Switch does not affect playback. The A/V cables can remain connected regardless of the switch position.
