This Betamax model provides two switches on the front that can be used to select the audio output. They are STEREO/L/R and HI-FI/NORMAL selectors. When the HI-HI/NORMAL audio switch is set to HI-FI and the STEREO/L/R switch is in the STEREO position, Betahi-fi stereo will come from the left and right line outputs. The LEFT or RIGHT audio channels can be selected individually when the HI-FI/NORMAL switch is set to HI-FI and either L or R output is selected. If the HI-FI/NORMAL is set to the NORMAL position, the normal track audio (linear monaural) goes to both the outputs.
