Disconnect the AC line cord from the wall outlet or power source. Examine the photos below and become familiar with the general layout of the various boards and component locations. For this cleaning procedure there will be no need to perform any operations upon the circuit boards or the power section. As already noted, identify but avoid the power section. Beta pictured is typical.  Now that the top cabinet is removed and the loader and path components are in the unloaded position, let's begin the general cleaning various components of the tape path. (Note: the Beta on the left shows a tape inside the unit. If your machine has a tape loaded inside temporarily replace the cabinet top and power up the unit.
