FRAME-BY-FRAME ANIMATION

An animated sequence of frame-by-frame scenes can be chained together by using the REC (record) button in pause mode. To do this the VCR would be put into record and then PAUSE mode. Objects would then be changed and REC would be pressed each time. Each time a short recording of even frames would be made. Done repeatedly, these short intervals would be recorded in sequence. This action can be repeated as many times as desired. When the recording is played back, the scenes would blend together and appear to be animated. For example, shooting an object to be animated, such as a chair, with a camera. (Recording can also come from the input.) Start recording, and then after a short interval, press PAUSE and then REC. Move the chair slightly and press the REC button again. A very short recording of approximately seven frames will be made. Then the VCR will automatically go back into REC pause again. Repeat this as many times as desired while moving the chair slightly. When this is played back, the scenes will flow together, and the chair will appear to be moving unassisted.
