This Digital Betamax can activate two unique functions when using the remote. Pressing DIGITAL SCAN on the remote momentarily in the fast forward or rewind mode will produce a faster speed viewing. Pressing the button again will resume normal viewing. For locked picture search, pressing SEARCH during forward or rewind on the remote during playback or in freeze it will hold the recorder in that mode until search is pressed again or PLAY is pressed.
