DESCRIPTION OF SONY TT-2000

The perfect companion to your SL-2000 is the TT-2000 tuner/timer. It matches its design and size with features that, when mated to the SL-2000 portable, make a formidable recording system. It features 14-pushbutton express tuning with a 14-day/4-event timer for automatic recording. It operates as both the power supply and battery charger for the SL-2000 portable. There are switches in the back to turn on the portable's internal dew heater and for disabling the included RMT-311 wireless infrared remote commander. Also located in rear are the video and audio line connections, RF in/out, and a switch for mastering PCM recordings. The remote duplicates many of the functions of the TT-2000 tuner/timer and the SL-2000 portable when both are used together. It is easy to see why this top-performing combination was so popular, and it hasn't been duplicated since.

The TT-2000 uses phono (RCA) plugs for the composite video in/out and has mini plugs for the audio in/out. To use a cable for the audio that has phono plugs requires a phono to mini plug adapter (available separately). To check out the adapter, click here. The TT-2000 MSRP was $675.00 in 1983; that's around $1980.00 in today's money.
