All BMC-500 Betamovies have one annoying design flaw. Over time the surface mounted capacitors on the imaging circuit board leak liquid electrolyte, damaging the printed circuits and causing the camera portion to become unreliable. To correct (or prevent) this problem the unit has to be disassembled and a time consuming repair must be done. All BMC-500 units I offer have had this corrective procedure performed on them.
