NO CHASSIS DESIGN NOTED

The front of the service manuals for the SL-HF2000 and SL-HF2100 do not identify their variation of the 711 chassis. They are typical in design for late model 711s. For both the entryway door pivots from the top and folds inward and up. This is done during inserting and ejecting a cassette. It is driven by a single motor driving a worm and ring gear assembly. The threading and pinch roller is operated by a motor/worm drive assembly. The reel assembly is driven by a single pancake motor and the capstan uses a separate flat motor. The SL-HF2100 is the only Beta to have a video head cleaner. It is mounted on the base frame of the chassis and activates after so many tape loads. A small foam cylinder is pressed against the video drum while the heads are spun several revolutions. This happens just prior to the initiation of the threading process. The rest of the chassis design described is the same for both. The SL-700 is similar but used a cogged belt coming off the threading transmission to drive its loader and path threading.
