The "D" variation of the 711 chassis uses two pancake motors for the reel table. The cassette entryway has a top hinged door and a panel that lifts up from the bottom to block the entrance once a cassette has been inserted. Tape threading is driven by a rubber belt coming from a motor and transmission assembly. Capstan is a separate pancake motor.
