This Beta will indicate when a recording is being made or has already been made using the Betahi-fi stereo audio format. Placing the Betahi-fi switch in the ON position during recording will produce stereo using the FM system that inserts discreet audio information in the video signal. If the recording is not in Betahi-fi the indicator will not light and the regular monaural audio track will be played. In most cases the monaural track, which is always recorded along with the stereo, can be selected for playback.
