This Betamax has a switched polarized outlet (AC socket) on the back used to control power (120-volts AC) going to a separate device. A switch behind the front component door determines its operation. The photo above shows the switch and socket. Setting the AC OUTLET switch to SW (switched) supplies power at the socket when the VCR is turned or when timer recordings are being made.
