TEST TAPES
Here is the lineup of the media used to align and test the all Betas. On the left is a Sony KR5-2ED Extended Definition Beta alignment master tape, top left is my MisterBetamax cleaning cassette. Proceeding down from here are copies of the Sencore ST265 servo performance tape recorded in , then in and . Under these is the Sony SL-0003-C torque test tool with a solid tape-up reel. I also have this with both reels. Below this is a copy of the master alignment cassette. Starting in the next row going down are test tapes with color bars recorded in , and . These are recorded using the NT64 Pattern Generator on regular tape. I also have and cassettes recorded using thin base tape. The very bottom cassette is a Betahi-fi test cassette that has no sound recorded on the normal audio track. On the extreme right is the ST625 master tape for the Sencore VC93 All-format VCR Analyzer. Front and center is a cassette that shows how the shell bodies are altered so that various adjusting points are available when servicing.
