SHUTTLE IN THREADED AND LOCKED POSITION
Once the threading action is completed the number five guide, with a little help from guide number six, directs the tape on its way to make for a smooth wrap around the drum. You notice a full erase head in the above photo. It doesn't have much of a relationship to the path, but it does get dirty and requires maintenance from time to time.
