CABINET DAMAGE
Most of the Higher end Betas have exteriors (cabinets) that are made of metal. These are susceptible to dents, dings and scratches. This can be another indicator of the kind of treatment the unit has received. Severe dents may point to more serious damage inside. If the machine has been dropped there may be plastic pieces broken inside or cracked circuit boards. This damage is caused from the inertial movement of the heavy assemblies that were mounted inside. When a Beta has suffered through an attack such as in the photo above there may not be any serious problems on the inside, but it warrants a closer examination. It has caused surface damage that degrades its value. These problems would be a challenge to restoring its appearance and could be indicators of other problems. Certainly another factor to consider when placing a value on an item. Let's move on to the next step by clicking here. To go back to the previous page click here.
