TWO VIEWS OF LOADING ASSEMBLY
Click on the picture to see both positions of the loader assembly. First is the tape entering and second is with it down. What your seeing here is the last and perhaps the best design of FL assembly (for Front Loader) that Sony produced. But all of the designs could fail, especially if they were abused. Some were prone to having the driving-arm pins broken off on either side. Others were susceptible to having the teeth broken off on the driving-arm gears. The one shown above is bad about the worm gear universal cracking, which then slips on the motor shaft making it unable to drive the transmission that moves the cassette in and out.
