FUNCTION BUTTONS WEAR
Operating a Beta requires that functions be entered in some form or the other. The most obvious way is through the buttons of the keypad array. Most machines will show if they have been used extensively by a wear pattern that has developed in the areas where the keys have been pressed. You can see this in the photo above and you will also notice that some printing on the buttons is starting to disappear. It takes a fairly high amount of touching to produce the wear we see in this photo so this would be an indicator of a high amount of use. If you don't notice any wear on the keys then the next place to look would be the remote control. Click on the photo and examine this item and you'll see that it indicates that a couch potato used it exclusively for operating this Beta. Once again these indications are factors that will be added in when making an appraisal. There is one more scenario where no wear is found on the keypad or remote, This where a production or slave machines has been hard wire to a remote device. These machines can rank high in visual appeal but once again all the various factors must be added to the mix to get a feel for a units value. Let's move on to the next step by clicking here.
